Born in the winter of 1976 in a small town in British Columbia, Canada, Ms. Bohmer’s fascination with all things obscure and unknown started at an early age. Her love of horror blossomed at the age of four while watching the 1970’s version of Dracula, starring Frank Langella. Although she was more interested in Renefield’s disgusting taste for bugs than she was in the suave Count!

Louise first picked up the pen, or rather an antique British typewriter, in her younger years. As a child, she crafted stories for herself of titillating terror and wondrous fantasy. By her teen years she had moved into poetry and short story composition, but she put down the pen abruptly and vowed never to write again in her early twenties. Urged by her husband to try her hand at the craft of writing again four years ago, Ms. Bohmer started out with the odd story and poem submitted, and soon her love for the craft of dark literature had returned. Louise now works as a freelance editor, both on an individual author contract basis and with the e-book publisher Whiskey Creek Press – Whiskey Creek Press Torrid (their erotic romance line). She is also the author of numerous short dark fantasy, speculative, horror and erotic works. In addition to writing and editing, Ms. Bohmer also teaches online writing workshops with the International Order of Horror Professionals and Scribe & Quill. She lives in New Brunswick, Canada with her tattoo artist hubby and their two ratties. Louise’s past credentials in the small press publishing industry include co-publishing the then online magazine Wicked Karnival (Issues 1 – 3) with Lisa Ulibarri of Dark Visions Studios and Brian Yount of Carnival of Wicked Writers/Wicked Karnival. She has also acted as poetry editor for Wicked Karnival and served as their copy editor, as well. She has edited several anthologies, novellas and novels with WCP/WCPT. And, in addition to writing, editing and teaching, Louise also created and runs an online forum for lovers of dark and erotic art forms, and creators of various dark and erotic art forms, known as Dark Prose ~ Decadent Delights. Ms. Bohmer’s dark tales and poetry have appeared in and are upcoming in: Wicked Karnival – Halloween Horrors, CWW Raw Meat Anthology, Noneuclidean Café, Flash Shots, Wicked Karnival # 7, The Red Light District Chapbook, FEAR – An Anthology of Horror and Suspense, Into the Dreamlands Anthology and Black Ink Horror Magazine # 0. As L. Bohmer, Louise pens most of her erotic works, and you can find some of her erotic tales in: Sensual Venus, Ruthie’s Club, Tit-Elation, and in her two January 2007 releases from Whiskey Creek Press Torrid, LUST and TORRID TEASERS VOLUME 20. In terms of longer works, Louise is now working on two novellas—one dark fiction and one erotic romance—and she is also working on a dark fantasy erotic collection. Ms. Bohmer also holds a longstanding passion for Romantic and Shakespearian literature, and was pursuing a degree in English when health problems forced her to leave studies at the University. She now continues to follow her love for literature through personal research, her career and life goals, and sometimes her fiction and poetry. Along with this, Ms. Bohmer is an ardent reader/researcher of old folklore, fables, mythologies, and she loves to incorporate these ancient tales into her works, adding her own slant and a contemporary, ethereal view on old world archetypes. Quantum physics and philosophy are also subjects she enjoys researching. Louise is also a collector of horror memorabilia, obscure/weird music and European Metal, books, and horror movies.
